I’m Garry Strait, a nonbinary developer (I also go by Chara) who thrives somewhere between structured engineering and controlled chaos.
I build things because I can, refine them because I care, and occasionally break them just to understand them better. I’m deeply hands-on, very systems-oriented, and I tend to learn by diving headfirst into problems most people would rather avoid.
I’m not interested in just using technology; I want to understand it, bend it, and sometimes rebuild it entirely in my own image.
You can find me on XDA as BunnyPad-Dev, or in my Telegram chat: https://t.me/bunnypaddev
A custom Android ROM that blends technical stability with a very intentional design philosophy: “Uniquely Chaotic.”
CharaROM isn’t just another AOSP derivative, it’s:
It started as a way to avoid dealing with certain people. It became something I’m genuinely proud of.
A Python-based notepad application focused on simplicity and reliability.
Instead of trying to be a full IDE, BunnyPad is designed around:
Ironically, despite its simplicity, it ended up being recognized in places I never expected, like Android modding communities.
I don’t just build Android, I fight it sometimes.
Technology should be:
If something is locked down, I want to open it. If something is broken, I want to fix it. If something is boring, I want to make it interesting.
I don’t aim to be conventional. I aim to be effective.
Whether it’s building a ROM, fixing hardware, or writing tools, I want to walk away from it thinking:
“Yeah. I built that.”
And mean it.
If you like what I build and want to support further development (or just feel like throwing a few bucks my way), here are a couple options:
No pressure, everything I make exists because I enjoy building it. But support is always appreciated and helps keep things moving.
